Welcome to Mojo for Running
I hope the information on this site will help you do whatever you want to do with your running. I want this site to enhance your running and take it to the next level.
These are members of my local running group. I organize a group run each weekend, invite all 1,000 people who've registered to receive my invites, and then we have a great time getting in our weekend long run, making new friends, sharing race stories, and planning future adventures. There are some speed demons in the group, lots of middle-of-the-packers, and beginning runners, too.
You'll find information here about virtually every aspect of running. If you have a specific question, I invite you to send me an email. If I don't know the answer, I can probably point you in the right direction. My goal is to facilitate your success at achieving your goals.
Although I've been running for many years, my passion for running still continues to grow. That's why my heart breaks when someone I know goes from runner to sitter, for whatever reason.
- If you run primarily to maintain a healthy body and strong heart, the information on this site will help you do that. It will provide the knowledge you need to make decisions that will prevent injury, enabling you to continue to chase and achieve your goals.
- If you are a new runner, I will provide answers to your questions about training, gear, races and much more.
- If you run because you enjoy competition, the Mojo for Running podcast will explain how to plan a training schedule that gets you primed for the big races.
- If burning calories is your main goal, then you'll learn how to plan your workouts to keep them interesting, avoid injury, and gradually, safely, increase your mileage, thus burning even more calories.
- If running is your hobby, reading the blog and listening to the podcasts will provide you with loads of information. You'll acquire a deeper understanding and appreciation for all aspects of running.
- If you appreciate the camaraderie of likeminded people - and by that I mean cheerful, positive people who embrace a healthy, active life - this site will provide you with a means of connecting with those people by joining the free Mojo for Running Community. You'll be able to participate in the forum, upload photos in the gallery, and post your running resolutions.
That's my Kiddo! She did two 50k trail races before doing her first on-road marathon. We worked out a very specific race plan, and she had a great race. I started running to lose weight after she was born 34 years ago.One of my running friends gradually got out of the habit of running, and one day she said, "I seem to have lost my running mojo." That was such sad news! Hence the name and the purpose of this program.
If you are on Facebook, I hope you'll join the Mojo for Running page. I Twitter at @mojoforrunning.
